Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 12th October 2020
Entity: EraNext Auto Private Limited
1. The EraNext Privacy Philosophy
At EraNext Auto Private Limited, we believe that absolute safety should never come at the expense of your personal privacy. We are engineering the Internet of Roads, utilizing advanced C-V2X telemetry, Edge AI, and continuous optical matrices. Because our Mercury One ecosystem operates inside your personal vehicle, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of data security, strictly adhering to the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
This policy outlines how we collect, process, and protect your data across our website, the Mercury One hardware, and the EraNext Companion App.
2. Edge AI: Local Processing First
A core pillar of our privacy architecture is Edge Processing. The Mercury One Neural SoC is designed to process the vast majority of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) visual data, lane-drift detection, and collision threats locally and offline. Your everyday continuous driving footage is stored locally on your device's internal storage/SD card and is not arbitrarily uploaded to our cloud servers.
3. Data We Collect
To provide you with our life-saving features, connected ecosystem, and personalized app experience, we collect specific categories of data:
3.1. Account and Vehicle Information
When you register for an EraNext account, pre-book a device, or sync the Companion App, we collect your name, contact details (email/phone), vehicle make/model, and encrypted payment information.
3.2. Telemetry and Spatial Data
To power features like the Valet Guardian, Invisible Fence geofencing, and live trip tracking, the device collects GNSS/GPS location data, vehicle speed, and driving behavior metrics (Eco-Scores).
3.3. Optical and Audio Data
The Sony 4x360° Panoramic matrix and ADAS Dashcam record continuous video. The device also utilizes an always-on microphone strictly calibrated to detect the verbal distress command ("Help! Help! Help!"). You maintain control over cabin audio recording preferences via your device settings.
3.4. Digital Glovebox Data
If you choose to sync your Driving License, RC, Insurance, or PUC via DigiLocker or MoRTH integrations, we facilitate this connection through highly encrypted tokens. EraNext does not access, read, or sell the contents of your government-issued documents.
4. How We Use Your Data
We do not sell your personal data to data brokers or advertising agencies. We use your data exclusively to:
- Deliver Emergency Services: Trigger autonomous SOS dispatch and relay your exact coordinates to emergency responders during a detected collision.
- Enhance Vehicle Security: Provide real-time alerts if your vehicle breaches a digital geofence or is driven recklessly in Valet Mode.
- Train Autonomous AI (Anonymized): We utilize heavily anonymized and aggregated telemetry and optical data to train our neural networks, improve road hazard detection, and refine our Edge AI algorithms.
- Provide OTA Updates: Authenticate your hardware for Over-The-Air firmware and security patches.
5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Disclosures
5.1. Emergency Responders and NHAI
In the event of a severe collision or a verbal SOS trigger, the system is designed to automatically bypass standard privacy walls to transmit your exact GPS coordinates and passenger headcount to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), local police, fire brigades, and your designated emergency contacts.
5.2. C-V2X Mesh Network
To enable the "Internet of Roads," your vehicle will broadcast anonymized safety packets (e.g., speed, sudden braking, location) to nearby vehicles and Sun 1.0 Road Side Units. This V2X data contains no personally identifiable information (PII).
5.3. Legal Compliance
We may disclose your data if legally required to do so by a valid court order, warrant, or government mandate under Indian law.
6. Data Security and Localization
We deploy military-grade encryption protocols (AES-256) for data in transit and at rest. In strict compliance with Indian data sovereignty regulations, all cloud-based telemetry, user profiles, and critical Companion App data are hosted on secure, localized servers operating within the territorial borders of India.
7. Your Rights and Controls (DPDP Compliance)
Under the DPDP Act, you retain full ownership of your personal data. You have the right to:
- Access and Export: Request a comprehensive export of the telemetry and account data associated with your profile.
- Consent Revocation: Disable cloud syncing, remote app viewing, or GPS tracking at any time (Note: this will disable core safety features like SOS and Valet Guardian).
- Data Erasure: Request the permanent deletion of your EraNext account and associated cloud data, subject to legal retention requirements.
To exercise these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer at the email provided below.
8. Website Cookies and Tracking
When you visit www.eranext.in, we use essential cookies to maintain site security, process your pre-booking cart, and optimize website performance. You can manage or disable non-essential analytics cookies through your browser settings.
9. Updates to This Policy
As our C-V2X network evolves, our privacy practices may update. We will notify you of any material changes via the Companion App or the email address associated with your account prior to those changes taking effect.
